I opted to build my own style and colour palette for my webpage, rather than using a preset. This gave me full control over my creative design decisions. For the website’s colour scheme, I used pastel blue, pink, and white. I picked a pastel blue colour because it evokes emotions of calmness and tranquillity, in contrast to the overstimulating appearance of Camden Town. This ensures that the content is simpler to perceive, absorb, and digest for the visitor than if it were presented in full colour.

To complement the website’s pastel blue background, I utilised pastel pink for headers and page buttons. This allowed for some variety in the colour palette, but also served to draw attention to key elements of the page due to the colour contrast.

In addition, I used photographs of Camden with a black-and-blue overlay as headers to distinguish each section of the submission. Then, I overlaid each submission’s name in strong white lettering. This produced a more visually appealing method of sectioning the page while maintaining the colour palette and house style.

I opted to employ a variety of various font types. I used thin, normal, and strong fonts to distinguish headlines, basic website content, and captions. I chose to utilise the system style font, so that the website’s text would seem familiar to users of each device, fostering a feeling of familiarity and readability.

I choose to embed my information on the website to facilitate accessibility and encourage people to engage with each page component. This comprised my YouTube video, my creative writing, and my Audio, represented by a play button.

My website’s design is in the form of a newsfeed, encouraging visitors to engage with the most recent material first and then proceeding in reverse chronological order. This would allow people to routinely check the newsfeed for Camden-related updates. At the top is a fresh episode of the podcast “Lost London,” followed by a hypothetical “hyperlink” to complete episodes on YouTube and Spotify.

Overall, my website was developed with simplicity and accessibility in mind. Page dividers provide for a comfortable user experience without being overstimulated by too much information in one location. This also enables the material to take centre stage and speak for itself.
